When they were three years old they joined a carnival circuit and took the responsibility of feeding the family by themselves.

They traveled to South America and Canada with their manager Ward Hall, and his sideshow World of Wonders while working hard for their family.

In 1991 they retired and relocated to Dayton, Ohio. They received an astonishing welcome in their hometown where the community raised money to construct a house for them close to their little brother.

Their younger brother claims they are content there.
